I got this idea from shopping with my friends a few weeks ago. Getting my first iphone meant that I was now another consumer on the large market for iphone covers, which ranged from the cheapest 2 for SGD$5 and the extravagant animal skin covers going for sGD$90++. Amongst the many designs i've seen, I saw some spike studded ones at H&M - which on closer inspection, were simply silver spikes glued onto a transparent case.
So that, combined with Christian Dior’s Autumn/Winter 2012 Couture show filed in my inspiration nook of my brain, became this:
Here are some more photos of the cover:
It was amazingly easy and fast to complete, and I barely used one glue stick. I also bought too many flowers, but the excess are now decoratively arranged on the top of my toilet. It's better to get the fake flowers made from synthetic fabric instead of paper ones, but if you can find other flowers made from hardier materials like maybe PVC - they'd be good too. The only down side of the fabric flowers is that after a week of using it, the edges of the petals start to fray. But it still looks fine, albeit hairy.
oh p.s., you can try to sing along to the background music - it's me playing the chords to Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen, in all variations I could think of to fill 4 minutes of video time.
